"Little Travelers on the Orphan Train"
Speaker Shaley K. George from the National Orphan Train Complex in Concordia, Kansas, will tell the story of the December 1896 Orphan Train which arrived in Olathe with 13 boys and one girl looking to find new homes. We hope to hear from residents in Olathe who may have personal information about some of these “little travelers,” to help us better understand this heartbreaking, yet hopeful tale.
Enjoy tea & finger foods, live music, creative table settings by local businesses & organizations, giveaways & more. Fancy hats encouraged! Doors to the tea room open at 1:30 pm on the day of the tea.
