These are challenging times for families as kids are home from school, parents are working from home, and everyone is sheltering in place due to the coronavirus outbreak. Are you looking for ways to keep your children educated, entertained, and engaged? The Olathe Public Library has put together a list of online resources to help you out. Many authors, publishers, and online services are providing special free content to support kids and their families during this time. There are drawing lessons with popular author/illustrators, special storytimes with famous celebrities, free online ebooks and audiobooks, streaming videos, online lessons, and more. It's also a great time to be reminded of the many free services available with your OPL library card, such as downloadable ebooks and audiobooks, streaming movies, and online tutoring.
Children's staff have put together a list of "Kids' Stay-at-Home Resources." Some of these are available only for a limited time, but all continue at least through the end of May. We hope you'll find some activities just right for your child. And don't forget to check out the Olathe Public Library's Facebook page where we are featuring some live storytime events and online programming for a variety of ages. The libraries may be closed right now, but our website is open 24/7. Stay safe. Stay well. Stay home!
