Classical Music Month

Did you know September is Classical Music Month?  The Olathe Public Library offers an awesome online streaming service for fans of classical music called Naxos Music Library.  Naxos is the world's largest online classical music library.  You can listen to more than 146,000 CDs with over 800 new titles added each month.  You can search by composer, performer, instrument, musical works, and more.  You can create customized playlists.  Listen on your computer or download their mobile app for your favorite device.  With Naxos Video Library you can also watch recordings of concerts, ballets, and other musical performances.  It’s all free with your library card!

For those of us who are a little more old school, the library has a great collection of music CDs for check out, including a classical music section.  And if you’d like to hear some great classical music performed live, mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 15 when the Goldenberg Duo—a violin/piano duo—will be playing a concert at the Downtown Library at 7:00 p.m.  If you enjoy classical music, the Olathe Public Library has got you covered.
