Kate Capps Retires
Kate Capps has served as Children’s librarian at the Olathe Indian Creek Library for the past 19 years. She has also served as the Olathe Public Library’s school liaison with the Olathe School District and helped strengthen our partnership with the city’s elementary schools. She has seen a lot of growth and change during her years at the library and has contributed to the library and community in so many ways. Kate was there when the Indian Creek Library first opened on Black Bob Road back in 2000. She weathered the flooding of the library building due to a ruptured water line in 2016 and was instrumental in re-opening the library six months later at its temporary location on Mur-Len Rd. while the new Indian Creek Library is currently under construction. Kate has made the Olathe Public Library a better place in so many ways for our patrons, our staff, and our community. As Kate celebrates her retirement at the end of the month and embarks on new adventures in her life, we wish her all the best. Thank you, Miss Kate, for all you’ve done!
You can join us in celebrating Kate's new chapter at a open house on Wednesday, March 27 from 3 pm to 5 pm at the Olathe Indian Creek Library.
