Bubbles, Bubbles, Bubbles
An exciting feature of the new library will be a bubble wall in the Children's area. Over the past two weeks McCown Gordon and the city’s library project team, have been working with Midwest Tropical to finalize plans for the installation of this amazing feature. The bubble wall will separate the Children’s program room from the main marketplace of the library. At 20’ wide and 14’ high the wall will be visible from almost anywhere in the library.
The bubble wall will be illuminated with an LED lighting system, which will provide an unlimited color palette to choose from and pre-programmed light shows that will entertain people of all ages. The combination of colorful lighting, water and bubbles will create a soothing gathering place and tap into a child’s sense of wonder and imagination. OPL will be able to change the color to honor a Chief's Superbowl win or a Royal's World Series run. Check out the bubble wall feature at OU Children's Hospital-Oklahoma City, OK as an example of what to expect at the Indian Creek Library.
In other news, construction crews continue to battle the elements. Last week workers were able to get approximately 30% of the roof completed prior to the ice storm’s arrival and a significant portion of framing for the front of the library is now installed.
