Last week I promised we would have an exciting announcement to share with you. Please watch the video below in which Olathe Public Library Director, Emily Baker, and a very special guest make the big announcement.
Park Street Pastry is a unique and successful pastry shop located in downtown Olathe. The owner and Chef, Doug Flick, has extensive experience in providing exceptional customer service and signature food items that quickly become sought-after favorites. The Indian Creek Library Café will be an extension of Park Street Pastry with offerings of a full-service coffee shop, flavorful pastries as well as various teas and sandwich items. It is expected to be a pleasant and distinctive café experience for library customers and the community.
The new Indian Creek library will also boast a large event space that can be used for special events such as wedding receptions, anniversaries, engagement parties, banquets, graduation, showers, rehearsal dinners and corporate events. Though the library will allow open catering for these events, Chef Flick and his staff will act as OPL’s preferred vendor going forward.
In construction news, the weather has played a significant role over the last week. Workers spent a considerable portion of last week removing 14” of snow off the roof deck. Once the weather clears, they will move forward with completing the roof installation and installing the storefront curtain wall.
Snow and ice are playing havoc with the solar-powered live construction camera at Indian Creek. Please check back if you visit and find it not working, photos will resume soon.

Until next week!
