Rocking the Galaxy Because I Read!

OR spotlight

Olathe Reads is a community-wide reading event for all ages happening from September 15 through October 31.  During this time there will be a special reading challenge for kids in K – 5th grade called “Rocking the Galaxy Because I Read!”  Here’s how it works:

  1. Get your “Rocking the Galaxy” reading log beginning September 15 at either Olathe Public Library.  (Olathe School District students may get these logs at their school.)
  2. Read 3 science or science fiction books of your choice and return your completed log to the library before October 31.
  3. Win an out-of-this-world prize and be entered in a drawing to win a littleBits Kit or some Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty!

Nonfiction science books can include astronomy, biology, chemistry, physics, robotics, or any science topic.  If you need some ideas for a good science fiction book to read, check out the two book lists below.  These titles are sure to rock your galaxy!
