I don’t know if I liked this book, because it represents the dirty reality of the life of some kids in our community. But on the other hand, I couldn’t put this book down. Personally, this book actually got some tears flowing through my eyes and gave me a slight sick feeling in my stomach.  I would recommend this book, but you got to be able to handle it.  Recommendation by Alina,14.

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

I loved the imagery and the style of the book! The plot line is inspiring. I would definitely recommend this book (probably more for girls though!).  Recommendation by Haley, 15.

Once Upon A Blue Moose by Daniel Pinkwater

Filed under: Teen Reviews — sscheiderer at 11:57 pm on Monday, August 4, 2008

I loved it!!!!!  I don’t know if other teens would like this book.  It’s short in length but very interesting.  It even gives you facts about moose.  All I know is that I liked it and other people might like it too.  Recommendation by Camille, 12. Â

Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card

Filed under: Teen Reviews — sscheiderer at 11:57 pm on Monday, August 4, 2008

I have only read one other book that meant this much to me, and that was Dreadful Sorry. You can feel what Ender is feeling, his pain, sorrow, all of it.  It’s different from any other book I’ve read. It takes place in space, learning to fight alien creatures (buggers), learning who they really are.  Recommendation by Erin, 12. Â

How Do I Love Thee by Lurlene McDaniel

Filed under: Teen Reviews — sscheiderer at 11:56 pm on Monday, August 4, 2008

There wasn’t one thing I didn’t like about the book. I loved every moment of it…I think I read it in about three hours because I never put it down.  Yes, I would recommend this book and any other Lurlene McDaniel book to others. She does an awesome job about capturing life after death and how you must continue.  Recommendation by Kristina, 15.

Burned by Ellen Hopkins

I disliked the beginning because it was a little slow. Also I wasn’t into a lot of the countryside themes of horseback riding. But I loved this book so much. The ending was a tragic jawdropper.  YES! I would definitely recommend it. Especially to teenage girls. It talks a lot about love, and school. It is so easy to relate, yet so hard. PLEASE give it a chance. I don’t know if my description caught your eye, but please just read it. Ellen Hopkins books change A LOT of my perspective on life.  Recommendation by Sarah, 15.Â

I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill Youby Ally Carter.

It was just as much of a romance as an action book. I could see it as a movie in my head.  I hate reading. But when I read this, I fell in love with it and could not put it down. I read it in 24 hours.  Recommendation by Lexi, 16.Â

Pirates of the Caribbean At Worlds End by T.T. Sutherland.

Filed under: Teen Reviews — sscheiderer at 11:55 pm on Monday, August 4, 2008

It should of been longer because Elizabeth Swann said, “Today we are the Pirates of the Caribbean!”  Then it stops.  I don’t know but I think they could have ended it a little better than what they did.  I would recommend this book to teens who watch the movies because then they can put what they imagined to the movie and compare them.  It’s really interesting when you do compare them.

Recommendation by Tira, 13.

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

I didn’t like this book, I LOVED IT!  It was so interesting.  It starts out a little boring and then it gets very interesting.  It also taught me about some of the things that went on in the south during that time period.  I would definitely recommend this to teens that want a good mystery book because that’s what it is. EVERYONE SHOULD READ IT!  You might not read another book like this for years.  Recommendation by Tira, 13.
