Welcome to the Wi-Fi-FreeSpot! Olathe Public Library now provides free public wireless Internet access, where you may connect to the Internet with your wireless laptop, PDA or other portable device. While other public wireless locations require an account with an ISP or a temporary access card, wireless at the library is available at no cost.
Technical Details
Olathe Public Library wireless uses 802.11b & 802.11g (Wi-Fi) technology. Your device must have compatible wireless access such as an 802.11b or 802.11g Wi-Fi Ethernet card to connect.
If your device does not automatically connect, do this:
In network card properties in Windows, Scan and Set ESSID network ID to OPLmain at Main or OPLIC at ICB.
Open your web browser.
Coverage
You should be able to connect to our Wi-Fi-FreeSpot from most locations at the main library. Likewise, wireless network access is available at our Indian Creek Branch location.
Technical Support
The library staff is not able to provide technical support for your wireless laptop, PDA or other portable device.
