Sew: Makerspace Sewing Machines

What type of sewing machine does the Makerspace have and what are its features?

We have two Quantum Stylist 9980 Sewing Machines. The Quantum Stylist has 820 built-in stitches. It can create monograms, embroider, quilt and make 1-step buttonholes.

What supplies do you have and what do I need to bring?

Bring your fabric, thread (if you want a certain type) and any necessary patterns. We have basic sewing supplies including a collection of donated fabrics and thread. Specialized presser feet and an ironing board are available. Book resources including McCall's Essential Guide to Sewing can also be found within arms reach.

Can I use the sewing machines in the Makerspace anytime?

You can drop-in to use the sewing machines anytime the room hasn't been reserved. You can check room availability here. As a reminder, an adult must accompany Makerspace users under 6th grade at all times.

What resources do you recommend if I am just getting started?
