Kansas Room

Olathe Public Library
The Kansas Room has an array of non-circulating materials relating to Kansas History especially as it relates to the Olathe area, the Oregon and Santa Fe Trails, and items of interest to genealogists. Of special note is the Historical Photographic Collection, representing Olathe history from the Civil War through the 1970s. Upon request, prints may be duplicated at a reasonable cost.

Microfilm

Microfilm of Olathe newspapers is available for issues published from 1861 to September 2003. Kansas census records and some other materials are also available. The Olathe Public Library has an extensive collection of Chilton automotive repair manuals. Both locations have the NADA price guides, Consumer Reports new and used car guides and access to Mitchell's on Demand.

The Consumer Reference area contains resources that evaluate a variety of consumer products such as new and used cars, computers and household goods. These resources include Consumer Reports, N.A.D.A Used Car Guides and Consumer Guide.
