Downloadable Audio Books at the Olathe Public Library
 
Listen to audio books on your personal computer or portable media device!
 
    The Olathe Public Library has joined with other Kansas libraries to make downloadable audio books and music available to every Kansas resident. The State Library of Kansas is coordinating the two-year pilot project.
 
 
    Check out and download audio books from home using your Olathe or Johnson County library card and PIN number. Soon you will be able to search for the books in the online library catalog.
 
Basics:
Collection: Books and music for adults and children.
Checkout Period: 14 days. Items automatically check in, so no late fees!
Checkout Limit: 10 titles (includes both music and books)
Holds: Place holds on up to 10 titles per library card. These holds will show on your KS State Library audio book account. You then have 3 days to "pick up" your hold.
Renewals: None allowed
Listening Options: Listen on your computer or portable music player. See compatible device.
 
This service is not compatible with iPod.
 
Software Requirements:
OverDrive Media Console and Microsoft Media Player v. 9 or above.

Note: First time users will be prompted for Windows Security Player Upgrade (needed to allow DRM-protected (digital rights management-protected) files to be player).
