6th Annual Foundation Dinner
"A Taste of Literacy"
Saturday, September 27, 2008, at 6:30 PM
Holiday Inn
101 W 151 St
Olathe, KS  66061

"A Taste of Literacy" is a wonderful evening with time to meet old and new friends, enjoy a delicious dinner and listen to a local writer share his craft and stories. This year’s speaker is even more appropriate due to his trip to Bejing to report upon the 2008 Summer Olympics. Guest author Joe Posnanski who is well known for his Kansas City Star sports commentary and books such as “The Good Stuff: columns about the magic of sports” and “Soul of Baseball: a road trip through Buck O’Neil’s America”, will now be able to entertain dinner attendees with his experiences in China. Whether its major league baseball, collegiate football or the Olympics, Joe’s insights and way with words will be the highlight of the evening.

Please make plans to attend now. Dinner tickets are $75 with proceeds benefitting the Olathe Public Library Foundation. The menu will feature filet mignon with basil shrimp and a cash bar will be available. Reservations can be made up until September 22 by calling Emily Baker at the main library, 913-971-6880.
