Summer Reading Program for Children
Every summer the Olathe Public Library has a special reading program for children going into 5th grade and younger. This year's theme is Dig Into Reading! Kids, keep track of your summer reading with a summer reading folder. There will be a variety of fun activities happening throughout the summer. Storytimes
During the summer he library offers storytimes outside in the parks of Olathe. We also offer an evening storytime at the Indian Creek Branch. The stories are geared to children ages 3 - 5, but all are welcome. No registration required during the summer. Click here for more information and the complete summer schedule.

SUMMER BOOKMARK CONTEST - For 1st - 5th graders
Sunday, June 30 - Entry deadline
Children entering grades 1st - 5th are invited to design a bookmark for Olathe Public Library based on the summer theme: “Dig Into Reading!” Entries will be judged by grade, and prizes will be awarded. Winners will be announced on Monday, July 15 and winning entries will be printed and distributed at both Olathe libraries beginning Monday, July 29. This program is designed for parents to read aloud to their elementary-aged children. To participate in the Family Read-Aloud Club, just stop by the Children's Reference Desk and we'll get you started! Click here for more details.
