The summer will include:

  • summer reading logs
  • special author/illustrator program
  • performing birds program
  • music program
  • crafts
  • games
  • storytimes
  • book discussion groups
  • Read to a Dog
  • free family movies
  • chess nights
  • LEGO family program
  • preschool programs
  • bookmark contest
  • Find Fido Fridays
  • and more

We will once again be starting off the summer with our Summer Reading Kick-Off for the whole family on May 30 at Frontier Park.  This summer we will be offering in-house programs at both Olathe libraries.  We will also be offering three big programs off-site at the Indian Creek Community Church located at 12480 S. Black Bob Rd.  It's sure to be a fun and exciting summer at the library!

All young readers (going into 5th grade and younger) are invited to pick up a summer reading log at either Olathe library beginning Monday, May 22.  We will continue distributing reading logs throughout the summer.  You may pick one up anytime. Reading logs will also be available at our Summer Reading Kick-Off on May 30.  Use the log to keep track of all your summer reading. Bring your reading log back to the library anytime between July 31 - August 18 to receive a free paperback book!

There will be something for everyone at the library this summer.  So get ready for some fun at the Olathe Public Library!  We hope to see you there. If you have any questions, you can always give us a call at (913) 971-6874.
