We'll introduce a theme or special challenge, turn you loose on the library's LEGO collection to build something awesome, then let you show off your creation before you leave.  Program will last about an hour.

Let's dance!  Come shake, shimmy, and dance up a storm at our preschool dance party, featuring favorite songs from our children's music collection.  No registration, but space is limited.  Tickets will be handed out 15 minutes prior to program.  Program will last 20 - 30 minutes.

R.E.A.D. TO A DOG - For young readers of all ages

Young readers of all ages may drop by and read to a cuddly canine  between 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. at the Indian Creek Library.  Upon arrival, check in at Children's Services for a reading time.  Reading sessions will be limited and available on a first come, first served basis.  Trained therapy dogs provided by Pets for LIfe, Inc.

Drop by the Indian Creek Library every Monday for a mission in fun!  Learn the art of paper folding, create a secret code, complete a scavenger hunt, participate in a life-size board game; the possibilities are sure to keep you guessing.  This program is for K - 5th grade, but parents and siblings are welcome.  Kindergarten and younger must be accompanied by an adult.  No registration.  Come and go as you please.

Are you a kid in kindergarten through 5th grade who loves building with LEGO bricks?  Be a part of our monthly Evening LEGO Club.  Each month we'll introduce a different theme or special challenge and then turn you loose on the library's LEGO collection to build something awesome.  Program will last about hour.  
PARENTS:  To allow as many children as possible to experience LEGO Club, please sign up your child for only one LEGO Club session per calendar month.

BABY BOOK EXPLORERS: EARLY LITERACY SKILLS - For newborn to 24 months with adult

Come to the library with your baby (newborn to 24 months) to read, learn, and play!  A board book will be shared with the group, after which you will have time to explore your own take-home copy of the book together.  Each session will culminate with play as you and your baby engage in various learning activities and sensory manipulatives.  Older siblings are welcome to attend.  Program will last about 45 minutes.

LEGO DESIGN CONTEST - For K - 5th grade

2:30 - 3:45 p.m. - Public viewing & voting

Attention LEGO enthusiasts!  Make something awesome using your own LEGO (or compatible) bricks and enter your creation into our LEGO Design Contest for kids in kindergarten through 5th grade.  You could win a prize!  Complete rules and information may be picked up at the library, or you may download them HERE.  Registration begins on October 30.  Space is limited and registration is required.

NOTE:  Kids in grades 6th - 12th may enter a separate Teen category of the contest.  For more information about the Teen categories, call (913) 971-6888 beginning October 13.

Contest will be held off-site at the Indian Creek Community Church (12480 S. Black Bob Rd.).  This contest is not sponsored or endorsed by the LEGO Group.

Come play with technology at the library.  Each month's program will focus on a different tech tool and toy.  This month we'll learn about Stop Action Animation.  Program will last about an hour.

Whether you've played before or not, join us for dice games and domino fun!  Each program will begin by learning how to play new dice and domino games.  Then enjoy playing with friends at the library.  Program will last about an hour.

Come to Stagecoach Park for a free 30 minute preschool stortyime.  The Olathe Public Library and the Olathe Community Center present a morning of stories, songs, and play.  In case of bad weather, the storytime will be held inside the community center (1205 E.
