The Olathe Public Library maintains a policy and plan for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Policy

The Olathe Public Library Board acknowledges and adopts "The Olathe Public Library and the ADA" as the most recent chronicle of library compliance. The library has made the necessary changes in order to better serve people with disabilities. It must be stated that compliance to the ADA is a continual process consisting of improvements beneficial to the entire community. Therefore, the Olathe Public Library adheres to the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. (PL 101-336) and the Kansas Act against Discrimination (K.S.A. 44-1001ff), and amendments thereto. As a receipt of volunteer services from the Volunteer Center of Johnson County, the Olathe Public Library is also in compliance with guidelines mandated by ACTION, the Federal Domestic Volunteer Agency.

  1. The Olathe Public Library actively supports the concept and importance of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  2. The Library Administration and Staff will maintain a current study and plan to monitor the Library's compliance with ADA.
  3. The Library's ADA Plan and Study will be a part of this manual's appendix.
