July 24 -Learning to Take Better Digital Photographs

This is a 2-hours hands-on class. Learn techniques to compose better digital photographs. After that we will go on a photo shoot (weather permitting) with a professional photographer to apply the techniques learned. We will then go back to class and view your images. Bring your digital camera. Registration required and begins July 10, 2008.

I'll take "Insects That Fly" for $200. And the answer is, "What is a mosquito?" 4th-6th graders, come test your insect knowledge and have fun playing Insect Jeopardy at the library. Registration required.

1:00-4:00 pm - Indian Creek Are you ready to take on the responsibility of babysitting? Need to refresh your babysitting skills? Take this fun half day class where you will learn how to handle emergencies when caring for young children. MED-ACT instructors will cover First-Aid, CPR and discuss information on how to set-up a babysitting business. Participants will receive certificates. Program is open to teens ages 12 to 18 only. Registration is required since space is limited, and starts July 1st at 10:00 a.m. Please register by calling 913-971-6888 or sign-up at the Adult Reference Desk at either library location.
